ParmaFairing
ParmaFairing® is developed and patented by Parma Plast and is a unique fairing product.
ParmaFairing is a durable fairing profile manufactured in thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), developed and patented by Parma Plast in 2004. ParmaFairing is used by several leading seismic companies.
Due to the cross-section of the fairing, a reduction of drag is achieved during towing of cables and other equipment through the water. Our customers get among other factors these advantages compared to other fairing products:

- Reduced fuel consumption
- Increased speed
The fairing is manufactured in a variety of sizes, as well as open and closed designs. Closed design needs to be threaded onto the cable from the end, while open design is mounted directly on the cable with a custom fitted welding machine.
ELECTRO WELDING MACHINE FOR PARMAFAIRING

Parma Plast has developed a solid and efficient welding technique with accompanying welding machine, to weld the open design of ParmaFairing directly onto the cable, without the need for threading. This simplifies assembly greatly, and enables assembly of ParmaFairing on already installed cables, or repairing of existing cables.

UPRIGHTER FOR UN-REELING AND REELING OF CABLES WITH PARMAFAIRING

It is important that reeling and unreeling systems for lead-in cables on board are adapted, to ensure that neither ParmaFairing nor cables can be damaged during reeling. Kongsberg Evotec developed an uprighter for lead-in cables fitted with ParmaFairing, for neat placement on the relays on board.
